This is another example of the utter ignorance of the medical community. Dr's aren't that intelligent folks, they are no wiser than the ages. Dr's used to kill patients by not washing their hands, now they are killing them with bad dietary advice. The keto diet works because you make far less insulin. Insulin is a fat storage hormone. As long as you're eating carbs and spiking your insulin, fat goes in and you will not lose weight. Mayo Clinic, you are a disgrace on this issue.

The Mayo Clinic has never been about true health care. It’s always been about vague information and telling people they can’t be healthy without pharmaceuticals and “modern medicine.” That’s not patient centric. That’s doctor and Big Pharma centric.

Eating like the caveman ate is low carb, and Keto is like the Atkins diet, the caveman diet with more healthy choices. When you have metabolic resistance Keto, low carb is huge in helping you lose weight and feel good! Getting fat is easy for myself and low carb/ Keto/ caveman diets have helped me lose weight. Low-fat diets have actually given me low blood sugar and made me light-headed. I have to stay away from carbs, fructose and eat protein, fats and drink tons of water to be healthy. This might not work for you, but its what I need to do today for my health.

I miss NOTHING being on Keto! I eat cheesecake, brownies, pizza, fried chicken, pecan pie and on and on!!!! The only difference is I have found a DELICIOUS way to replace the high carbs and processed sugar! NO ONE notices my foods taste any different! IF we are not sick, Mayo makes no money!!!

Reduced inflammation
Most of the processed foods we eat are inflammatory because of the additives, chemicals and sugar that is present. Inflammation leads to a myriad of health problems such as joint pain, weight gain, muscle loss, risk of cardiovascular disease and so on.
When youíre on the keto diet, youíll be severely restricting your intake of processed foods and carbs. This will reduce the inflammation in your body.
