Diet and Exercise Makes You Fat | Jay Cardiello | TEDxWorthington
healthy diets April 1st. 2020, 3:48am
The diet and fitness industries are setup to focus on the effect, but not the root cause or why a person does what they do. Unlike other health related addictions, they focus on an individuals root cause in order to create sustainable outcomes. With the obesity and chronic conditions at an all-time high, the only one benefiting from these industries are the social media gurus who gain from society’s health failures.
Jay Cardiello is an industry-leading Health Strategist who is respected in the fitness and medical communities serving as a strength and conditioning coach to both professional athletes in the MLB and NFL and celebrities including Sophia Vegara, Jennifer Lopez, and Ryan Seacrest.
Highlights of Jay’s long and impressive resume include being named the #1 Motivator in Health and Wellness by Shape in 2013. He was ranked by Greatist.com along with Michelle Obama and Dr. Oz on a list of those who have made an impact on health and wellness worldwide.
Jay is the author of Cardio Core 4×4, co-star of the ABC television show “My Diet is Better than Yours,” founder of JCORE, co-founder of the “Off the Scale” intervention program and creator of the “Jay Cardiello No Diet Plan.”
Jay serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Dr. Oz’s ShareCare and is a Committee Board Member to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He lives in NYC with his son.

Guys. lost crazy amounts of weight doesn't need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I'm going to give you some advice right now. Look for a popular diet plan called Custokebon Secrets (just google search it). Thanks to it I've lost tons of weight. I probably should not even be speaking about it cause I don't really want lots of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I am just in a great mood right now and so I'll share the wealth haha.

I like the essence of Mr Cardiello's speech: water and a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables (and reduces free and processed sugars), beats diet bars, drinks, packaged foods and fad diets. Good job on the basic message. Good for Mr C for calling the perveyors of diet fads on the carpet for their disservice to humanity. Did he make clear those in the stands buying into those fads are also complicit? Who cares. Use his advice and get yourself healthy.

I don’t believe this guy has ever seen a dietitian work in a 1 on 1 setting. If he did, he would know that dietitians do dig deep to find out what is at the core of their issues. Dietitians, through counseling, help clients with habit change before they start on any type of new diet regimen.

I became so energized to try the diet routine “Yamzοkο Weebly” (Google it). I did not change my very own eating routine and also did not improve my exercise level. Over a period of 30 days, I dropped around 6 lbs. The strategy has let me consumed lesser and getting full is faster. .

One big thing he said that I can really identify with is the "We all know how to do it…." part.
I truly don't understand how people have such a struggle with "dieting". Yeah, I totally get about emotional eating, or craving, or whatever – been there, done that. But once you decide to eat healthy and be as healthy as you can, food isn't such a big deal. Just eat real food, not something processed in a factory. Eat veggies and fruit, nuts and berries. Some grains, some meat and fish, eggs and dairy if you like.
If you want to lose weight, eat less. If you want to gain weight, eat more.
"Exercise" isn't rocket science, either, if you get right down to it. Just move more.
Sure we can learn more about nutrition and exercise. BUT WE DON'T HAVE TO, and the worst thing is exactly what he said "make it too complicated, and then you don't do it".

We are all dying to live.. He made us live as if we r gonna die, so that we can live with the truth that we are dying.. we no more need to follow the "fitness industry" please don't become vegan or become a non vegetarian for protein.. eat wat u want to start embracing what we have..

Diet is something temporary. We need a holistic philosophy that we can pursue throughout our lives. For this, we need to change our minds, because without changing consciousness, diet is just a mechanical habit. When we change our consciousness, we no longer need effort to eat healthy. Healthy eating becomes a pleasure. A healthy mind is a necessary condition for a healthy body. The body is a deadly machine, but the spirit is immortal. All these diets with complex names can be reduced to a few simple rules – eat a little and simple food, drink water, get off the table a little hungry because the feeling of satiety comes 15 minutes after eating. Follow these rules and you will not pay much money for nutrition consultants.

This guy is a bit full of himself. He negates his achievements with his superior attitude; I wish a person of accomplishment like this would be less judgmental, dramatic. The great irony is that forces you to take on his critical eye; I just fell into his trap. Sad.
