HOW TO EAT CARBS & BUILD MUSCLE WITH DIABETES
There is a common belief that ‘low carb or zero carb’ is the only way to eat if you have diabetes.
It’s not, there’s a time and place for low carbohydrate eating. But, in the context of people who lift x3-7 times per week (like you guys) Carbohydrates are pretty dam important, for feeling muscle performance.
In this video, I explain how people with diabetes can eat carbs, get lean, build muscle and still control their diabetes.

I am very active- always have been. I ate normal amounts of carbs. I then became type 2 diabetic. I cut out carbs and started lifting and My A1c dropped below pre-diabetic level. But I can’t gain muscle mass becasue I can’t eat carbs. If I start eating carbs I will become diabetic again. So I lift and lift and get zero results. I eat a ton of food and massive protein, which is good. So it seems either I get ripped and gain mass and become diabetic or I stay skinny, but avoid diabetes and live a long life. Hmmm muscle or long healthy life. Guess I’ll choose long healthy life. As a skinny guy.

Great video! I'm t1 for 6 years now and gained the typical belly and thigh fat when I started using insulin pens. Now that I have a semi closed loop pump I finally dare to lift again and lose weight, but notice that I constantly suffer hypos on my workout days (3x a week) so I cant really avoid carbs if I need like an extra 60g of glucose to keep my bs in range 🙁

I'm a 48 year old male who is 6'3" weighing at 210lbs with T2D. I was diagnosed with T2D 7 years ago, after having both adrenal glands removed due to malignant pheochromocytoma, as well as thyroid cancer. I run 7 to 10 miles 3 times a week, play basketball twice a week, and lift weights 5 days a week. I stopped taking my metformin 2 years ago, as I no longer require it. I eat 6 to 8 times a day, mostly vegetables (eg. Broccoli, carrots, spinach…) with proteins (fish, chicken breast, eggs, turkey breast, cottage cheese, nuts, yogurt, peanut butter…). With lots of water per day. Sometimes I'll have small potatoes or rice, but not too often. As for supplements, I take zinc, magnesium, a multivitamin in the morning. I also take salmon oil 3 times a day with a meal. I'll also have a glass of water with glutamine and creatine before workouts, right after a small meal. I also take L arginine and L citrulline before bed. And finally I do take a vegan protein powder with no sugar. I stay away from sugars, processed foods, simple carbohydrates and all junk food. Well… actually… once every 2 weeks I cheat and have either an unhealthy snack or meal. But it motivates me to work harder at the gym.
So far, so good. 🤗

I am Sixty four years of age and I learned I`ve got diabetes ten months ago. Getting diabetes is really a distress for me personally, not to mention the fact that I will be struggling the effects of diabetes like my dad. The good news is, I`ve found this excellent guide “Vαnοjο Fivu” (Google it). The main test outcomes reveal that my glucose was at 183 and my A1C was 7.3. After a week of reading the program, I`ve managed to reduce my A1C to 5.9..

Hi Phil
I'm 44, been told I am type 2, numbers are 95!, when it's supposed to be below 48.
I'm looking at the 800 cal, blood sugar diet,(Dr Michael mosley)
I got it to remission, a few years back, but now back! As i stopped training and eating correct, plus too much alcohol!!!
I want to do the diet again now, rather than take pills! I'm going to work out, run/weights etc..
Is it complex carbs rather than what you state?
And what is the muscle building diet whilst sticking to this??
Alot I'm asking..
