“Common sense” and truth are often far apart.
Truth is being revealed that a lot of what’s in this presentation may be “common sense” and curiously, it’s one of his colleagues that presents heavily on a lot of it. A lot of what’s presented is still stuck in the regime of the last 50 years
It’s no wonder things are such a mess for obesity and the like in the US and those that follow the SAD (applicable acronym) regime.
If I follow the “common sense” dietary guidelines, I’m stuck with high blood pressure and cholesterol of the bad kind, amongst other things.
So much of what we’ve been told in my lifetime (48 years old) is being proven to be garbage when properly scientifically-tested instead of weak epidemiological studies that rely on lousy human estimates of diet/exercise over long periods of time that don’t control for confounding variables and never can, because humans don’t remember things precisely enough if at all. Proper nutritional studies are difficult to do with a large number of people over a useful period of time because it’s like herding cats.

The dairy and meat industry have funded recommendations from the start. Why is dairy a food group…how much are they paying for that? They have alternate sources for the nutrients on the list under DAIRY but it’s still the named food group.
